I LOVE to teach. But let’s be real y’all… we also LOVE not teaching in the summer. I have a rule of not going to my classroom until August 1st. But we are leaving August 1st for another trip. And.. will be gone the next weekend too. Uh oh. That means I’ll be returning to my classroom tomorrow: JULY 29th. Eeeek!
This has been the best summer. It’s the only summer that I haven’t taught summer school (besides last summer because I was planning a wedding and getting married and buying a house and getting a new job). So this summer has been wonderful. We’ve been able to TRAVEL. My sister and I had the TRIP OF A LIFETIME in the UK for three weeks. (More details to come on our England and Scotland adventures.)
Taylor went on an Alabama fishing trip across several lakes while I was overseas. Then he took his grandpa on a trip to Illinois to see family. Together we went to Oklahoma, Missouri, and are heading to Kentucky Lake this weekend. We have hardly been in one place for a few days.
And doing this remodel would never have happened during the school year. Am I riiiiight?
So. It’s that time again. Back to reality. I returned to my Teachers Pay Teachers store today with a new product. Since I was trying to get back into the joyful spirit of education, I created these inspirational and happy teacher “Teaching and Learning Chalkboard Quotes” for you. Now I know a lot of you aren’t teachers, so you can download this universal job print exclusively in this post.
For you teachers, here is a preview of what you will get in the pack. You can print and frame them for a fresh look in your classroom or office! I chose these quotes because when parents, students, or administrators walk into my classroom I want them to know how I feel about my job and my students. These quotes sum of my teaching philosophy- why and how I teach. You can buy them all for $7 here.
(Hint: Did you know you can roll your cursor over any image on my blog to easily pin it so you’ll have it later?)
Do you have any quotes that you wish were included?
Any other teachers out there feeling bittersweet about going back to work? I will probably be ready for a steady routine soon!
And sorry but because I have to: The free download in this post is for personal use only. I’m all about sharing the love, but all text and images on this site are © Katie Surly 2011-2014. All rights reserved. Thank you! xoxo
