Best Place to Stay Fort Lauderdale: Beachside Village Resort
Hands down going back here. For more than one night! We were staying in Key Largo for 5 days, but wanted to fly in a day early and spend a night in the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area. This stay was the result of throwing out our plans on Facebook and asking if anyone had a favorite place to stay.
I’d looked online but wasn’t familiar with the best spots. One of my Arbonne friends, Jan Camp, who actually lives in Utah commented immediately with the link to Beachside Village Resort. Her and her husband actually met 30ish years ago on the beach in front of Beachside Village Resort. It’s actually in Lauderdale by the Sea and just about 20 minutes from the Fort Lauderdale Airport. She said their all time favorite restaurant, the Aruba, was just a stroll down the beach with amazing conch fritters.
From the road, it looks like a regular motel. Walk up the stairs and through a little corridor to enter the perfect hidden oasis. We walked through from the road to find the most picturesque courtyard area with a pool, cabanas, bar, and complimentary everything. It was twilight with twinkling lights strung across the pool and guests mingling and laughing over wine.
We walked into the office to check in with the sweetest people. They handed Taylor a beer in a koozie. The guy literally walked out to the car to help Taylor carry in our suitcases. His wife went out to the bar and ordered me what they call a BVR… something with alcohol and lemonade that was delicious.
They have free drinks on Friday nights, but their bar is ironically a patio bard with a cooler full of whatever guests have left behind with them. Perfect, perfect, perfect stay in our cute little bungalow room with a kitchenette.
The next day, Taylor went fishing so I hung out by the pool. Even though the beach is just across the street within steps, I was digging the cabana life. Sunscreen and pool rafts are provided, too!
It was raining when I checked out so I sat in one of the rocking chairs and sipped on my Arbonne detox tea and read. One of the workers met me at our room upon checkout with an umbrella so I wouldn’t get rained on. They have the most thoughtful staff!
Also, they are BIG Patriot fans. It’s very apparent. Ha!
